About Marland Accounting
Marland Accounting was established by Jacob Padrotta & Paul Geary on the foundations of Marland & Marland. Marland & Marland, based in Queanbeyan, NSW, was owned and operated by Tony and Deloraine Marland and provided professional accounting and business services to the Queanbeyan community for 47 years. In 2009, Tony and Deloraine began the transition into retirement and identified Paul Geary and Jacob Padrotta as the future directors of the business and were confident to entrust the firm’s future growth and advancement with them.
Jacob and Paul saw a genuine need in the accounting industry for a practice that would take the time to specialise in the needs of each client, rather than treat them like just another number. They sought out a business with a well respected reputation in the community to which they could apply their skills and expertise, and grow the quantity and depth of services offered.
Marland Accounting is located in Queanbeyan, NSW and serves the accounting, business services, taxation, and auditing needs of individuals and businesses in Queanbeyan, Canberra, the greater ACT, and regional areas of NSW.

Our team
Paul Geary, Principal & Company Director
Paul Geary was a founding partner and is the current director of Marland Accounting and brings considerable experience to the firm. With a professional history including “big 4”, mid-tier, and boutique firm experience, Paul has built a solid reputation for quality and attention to detail and is experienced at all levels.
Paul is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the Australian National University in Canberra. He has particular expertise in the areas of personal taxation, business taxation, audit, GST and FBT. Paul is a good communicator and clients find him very easy to talk to.
Jacob Padrotta, Consultant
Jacob Padrotta acts as a consultant for Marland Accounting.
He is a Chartered Accountant and qualified Financial Planner. Prior to co-founding Marland Accounting, Jacob worked with some of Canberra and Australia’s leading practices to develop his skills across all areas of Accountancy and Financial Services. These skills include taxation and business services, GST, asset protection and accumulation, asset finance, and self managed superannuation funds.
Jacob prides himself most on being able to apply his expertise to the specific needs of every client.
